summer, company, state fair

I hope everyone is having a fantastic summer! I had all the kids home last weekend -Nick from Boston- Kari from Grand Rapids and Daniel who is home for the summer and Jonathan and family who live in Oostburg, and my mom and dad have been here a week -they live up in Iron Mountain, Mi. It was an awesome weekend -somewhat hectic but sooooo much fun to have everyone home.

I didn't get to do a lot of knitting but all of my yarn reps were here this week -except for one! i can't wait for all my new yarns to come--YIKES!!! now to find a home for it all!! It does feel like Christmas, tho!

Well just thought Iwould make an entry in my blog to let you know I have not forgotten how to
write :-)

Now off to Thursday night knitting group-one of the best days of the week.

hope everyone is having a great summer!

Crystal Lake Fiber and Folk art Fair

I found this quote on the Kettle Lakes Coop website and HOW TRUE!!!!!

"Buying the right computer and getting it to work properly is no more complicated than building a nuclear reactor from wristwatch parts in a darkened room using only your teeth."
~
Dave Barry, American Journalist and Comedian

YAY!!!!!!!!!! Finally got pictures to load!

finally got pictures to load! Computers! sigh.........maybe it is the operator :-( have to say I don't have a lot of patience for computers-maybe that is why I don't post as often as I would like. It takes too much time. Anyway, if you would like to read about the yarn by Conjoined Creations, to this website: http://www.conjoinedcreations.com/Flat_Feet.html it is soooooo much fun!! the colors are totally awesome and no 2 alike. I have joined the "sock of the month club" so let me know if you are interested and I will save you a pair when they come in. It won't be starting until September. :-)
again, have a great Sunday!

YES!!! DENISE IS HOOKED ON SOCKS! FLAT FEET

Yes, Denise's first pair of socks and she can't put them down! Denise and her mom came all the way from Oconomowoc to open night knitting on Thursday! when listening to the news from Jefferson county fair about the severe weather, she just couldn't put her socks down and stood by the TV to watch while knitting!! Denise owns draft horses and they were to be shown at the fair by her kids. Some of the tents blew down because of the wind. No one was hurt!

(my computer is doing weird things this morning so couldn't post the picture :-( ) as soon as it behaves I will post it!

hope you all have a great Sunday!! the weather is absolutely perfect!

YES!!!! Denise is hooked on socks!!!!

KNITTING ON SIZE #0000 NEEDLES!! Not kidding!

I never thought I would EVER knit -let alone on a size #0000! Nancy, www.nancyalison.com taught us how to make the amulet bags this morning in class. They were/are a lot of fun but WOW it is hard to see the stitches and the beads. We use size 8 seed beads and 10/2 mercerized cotton thread. Nancy made the 5 bags shown on the right as sample for us to follow -it would take me the whole year to get that many done! Homework for the class this week is to get the entire bag done and when we get back to class next week we will work on stringing the beads for the necklace and the fringe. REALLY have to keep knitting!!! thanks, Nancy for a fun project!
